Upcoming workshops for coaches:

Coaching for Sustainability

Today, leaders must put their challenges and opportunities in a global context. How do the major global trends connect with the work of leadership?  What is the role of coaches in partnering with leaders to address issues of personal, organizational and global sustainability? Can coaching affect changes that sustain humanity and the living systems on our planet?

This workshop is a conversation about the perceptions and behaviors connected with a mindset of "scarcity" and "fear" vs. a mindset of “enough” and “sufficiency.” We explore the behaviors that each sets into motion – and the choices that are available to us all. We look at how our vision for the future can affect the sustainability of the earth and ask how we might align our vision for a sustainable world through coaching.

Lloyd Raines of Integral Focus and Kate Ebner of Nebo share five main points as a foundation for the conversation. They frame a “past, present, future” exploration around sustainability for tapping the collective sense of possibilities for coaching’s role in the emerging paradigm shift. Through small and large group dialogue, we hear and feel the call of coaching and the ways we can support wise stewardship of the world’s vital resources.

Coaching From A Systems Perspective

As leaders and coaches, we live and work in complex systems--our families, our organizations, and our larger world. Coaches can best serve our clients by deepening and broadening our ability to coach from a systems perspective--to help our client leaders better see themselves as human systems working and living in larger systems. How leaders proceed in those systems, and how those systems operate, can have a huge impact on their ability to achieve their goals.

This three day course is designed for coaching practitioners, certified coaches and senior leaders in organizations who are engaged in coaching people and want to extend their coaching and learning to a deeper level.

Coaching from "Enough" --  The Radical and Empowering Philosophy of Sufficiency

Based on the principles of humanitarian and fundraiser extraordinaire Lynne Twist, author of The Soul of Money, this program engages participants in a deep exploration of what it really means to live and work from a mindset of "enough."  You will learn how to recognize scarcity-thinking in your own life. We share our own stories and invite you to examine your own. The program helps you to connect with the sufficiency already present in your own life and learn how to approach life from the radically empowering philosophy of sufficiency.

Coaching Overwhelmed Leaders

Are you overwhelmed by the "overwhelm" of your clients? Today, we find that the majority of leaders we coach feel overwhelmed by work load and personal and professional challenges. Join us to learn how to coach clients to create a shift from reactive to purposeful, from feeling out of control to seeing and making positive choices. Based on Kate Ebner's "Coaching for Leverage" model published in On Becoming A Leadership Coach, we will show you how to use the leverage framework of Time, Resources, Priorities, and Energy to guide your clients from the exhaustion and stress to healthy leadership.

Coaching for Vision

Our world is created through our collective imagining of what is possible. Visions are at the core of developments in science, politics, entertainment, technologies and even warfare. At Nebo, we believe that visioning is a core skill required for effective leadership in the modern century. As coaches, we often encounter opportunities to help our clients to crystallize and articulate a powerful vision.

This workshop teaches coaches a creative and practical process for coaching for vision. You will have a chance to develop your own vision while learning strategies and methods for visioning.

Coaching Women through Life and Career Stage Transitions

In 2011, we are continuing to offer a new course to share what we know through our deep work with women at all stages of life and career. We will look at what matters most to women at each stage, how changes of the body affect women's energy and add another nuance to the challenge of effective leadership, and common mistaken beliefs and behaviors that can sabotage a woman's career. We will share the wealth of resources and coaching approaches that enable you to bring just what is needed to your client to support her success. Contact us for more information.

Workshop 1:  Full Body Presence for Coaches

Upcoming Programs:

October 17-19, 2012

Register for Full Body Presence for Coaches, April 2012 in Reston, VA  on Eventbrite

We are delighted to partner with well-known CranioSacral therapist, instructor and author, Suzanne Scurlock-Durana to sponsor an opportunity for coaches to learn how to build and enhance somatic presence; thus maximizing clients' outcomes. Further, Suzanne's work is an antidote to burnout, as she helps you build solid skills for energy management and personal renewal.

Full Body Presence for Coaches offers a simple, practical methodology that is highly relevant for coaches. Suzanne Scurlock-Durana's work fills a gap in skill-training we need as coaches in terms of grounding, providing a steady presence that allows for deep work and healthy boundaries, and connections with our clients. This workshop will help you expand your capacity to:

  • Rejuvenate and nourish yourself in a healthy way
  • Understand the dynamics of our unique energy patterns
  • Connect with the joy already present in our lives
  • Hold a healing space for others
  • Create healthy boundaries that allow deep connection to ourselves, our clients and the world
  • Remain fully present, even in situations of extreme stress

Workshop 2:  Your Signature Energy Presence I

Upcoming Programs:

May 10-11, 2012

Register for Signature Energy Presence I, May 2012 in Reston, VA  on Eventbrite

This program is part two of the Full Body Presence series with Suzanne Scurlock-Durana.

Now that you have learned about your energy presence, come learn how it can be your ally (rather than a hidden hindrance) in every coaching session you do. Suzanne will show how to track energy changes as they occur during a typical coaching session and how to deepen those interchanges using your presence as a foundation. From there, we will look at some typical energetic stress styles you may be seeing in your clients and what the antidote is for each different stress style. These skills are necessary and yet not normally taught in our training -- so come discover the energy habits that will help you build longevity and a sense of joy in all you do!

These skills are invaluable in:

  • Tracking the client using your own navigational system
  • Learning how to discern what is you and what is them
  • Discovering how to utilize your own system to create a safer container for their process
  • Mastering the steps of how to hold your own inner places of discomfort so as not to get side-tracked by them in client sessions
  • Understanding the concepts/principles that allow you to work with your own system and on out into another person's system with grace, ease and integrity.
