The Firm

An international law firm with headquarters in Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, and London. The firm is consistently ranked within the Am Law 100, this international firm employs over 600 attorneys known for government contracting, regulatory matters, and high-stakes litigation.

The Challenge

The firm needed 1-on-1 leadership coaching for its partners. This included partners in transition, new practice group leaders, high-potential rising partners, and established partners who wanted to increase their impact within the firm. They were seeking a consistent resource for great coaches, a coaching provider with law firm expertise who would take time to get to know the firm and its culture.

The Solution

To address the firm's need for leadership coaching, Nebo established a group of eight coaches with expertise coaching lawyers. Over more than a decade, this team of eight coaches became experts on the firm's specific needs and culture. Occasionally, Nebo expanded the pool to meet specialized requirements.

To streamline the process of selecting a coach, Nebo developed three coach package options. This allowed the firm to quickly select the option that aligned with their goals for a specific leader and get the coaching started without delay. Nebo’s account leader served as a resource for both the talent development leader at the firm and also coordinated meetings of our coaches to ensure they were up-to-date on firm developments.

The Impact

Our long-standing relationship and tailored approach led to high satisfaction among the lawyers receiving coaching. Without exception, each lawyer has been pleased with the coach match and has given positive feedback about the experience. In each case, the lawyer can point to key take-aways from the coaching.
