Our NameThe Nebo Company is named after Lake Nebo, a hidden lake in the Adirondack Mountains. In this pristine setting, Kate Ebner experienced an unforgettable sense of deep connection, creativity and inner peace as a child. Leaving the lake, she wondered how to hold onto that feeling of inspiration in everyday life. Over time, Kate discovered that most people have a place or memory that inspires deep peace, renewal and self-confidence. She asks, “How can we access that inner balance when we need it most in our busy and demanding lives? How can our ‘nebo’ experiences continue to ground our leadership, even when we are not at our nebo? How do we carry that feeling with us?” To us, Nebo is a beautiful metaphor for centered, resilient leadership. We each have a “lake within,” a center point in which we can access the resources needed to lead with courage, grace and purpose. Our coaches guide leaders to navigate their own inner waters to find the source of their highest potential – their nebo. To us, Nebo is at the core of our leadership principles and our commitment to sustainability that inform our work with each other and our clients. |
